Your Words Defeat The Enemy: How Will You Use Them?

“When life is hard for someone, and Satan is desperately trying to get in and wreak havoc, the last thing he wants is an encouraging word from God via a friend or loved one. He wants control, he wants people at their weakest, he wants to discourage any good thought. Our words, our testimonies of God’s goodness are what will pull people out of that mess. ..”

In This Present Fog, God is Still Good

We have to trust that where we’ve seen God work before, where we’ve seen him faithful, he will always be faithful. And even if we haven’t walked hard rocky trails before, we’ve seen other people run them with abandon. We’ve seen men and women of faith who have walked before us, and we have seen God be faithful. We need to trust that if there is beauty for them, God also has planned beauty for us.

Overstimulated? Jesus Has the Answers

There are too many bad things happening, too many people getting hurt, and too many burdens to carry. We are overstimulated and there is only one solution: go to a quiet room, and be comforted by someone who has no stress. And there’s only one way to enter into this kind of comfort: real, quiet time with God.

When All Seems Hopeless God Does Immeasurably More

In these incredible times of trouble, there was nowhere to look but up, so look up we did. And the Lord was with us: weeping with us, pushing through closed doors with us, opening up opportunities, holding us, being strong for us, being patient with us. Every time there was an impossible roadblock, something no human could surpass, the Lord provided a way, and it was always more, and better than anything we could have created ourselves.

Trading Our Burdens for Soul Rest

In that moment, at my counter, I took a deep breath, several actually. I reminded myself that Jesus wants me to come to him in these moments. We are weary; we are carrying heavy burdens. He wants us to come to Him when it feels like too much. He wants our burdens so he can trade them for his, and lighten our loads. He wants to give us rest.
